 Interview of Mr. Li Mou ( international business manager of BENLG )

Recently, Dongguan Benling Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd ( hereinafter referred to as BENLG ) announced that will develop Europe countries markets. This news has attracted great concern from the industry since announced. The media have given enthusiastic attention and expectation to that Mr. Li Mou will operate the promotion the marketing of BENLG brands.

Soon after Mr. Li Mou took the post of international business manager, the reporter visited and interviewed Mr.Li Mou face to face in the Canton Fair.

 

 Reporter: you are a marketing expert in the field of e-vehicle for example the electric bicycle and electric motorcycle , as we know from 2008 to 2018, BENLG is the No.1 exporter in South of China on the electric vehicle field, also maintain high growth every year, Could you please tell us the why so much more and more foreign countries companies like to cooperate with you in the past 11 years.

Li Mou: actually, BENLG is one of the gasoline motorcycle manufactory transitioned to and electric vehicle manufactory since 2003,  BENLG marketing development choose " Two Legs Running " policy, one for running in the domestic marketing, another one for the international marketing. in order to develop oversea market, BENLG set up the international business department in 2008 and provided professional saleman who with strong international business experience. as I know it is the first creation in the same electric vehicle manufactories field, because all of them are focusing to the domestic market which is crazy growth up every year. Also at the beginning of that moment when we developing the oversea markets, we were affected and restricted by various factors, for example, all of the electric vehicles which made in China can not match the Europe countries and North American's vehicles standard, we don't get the EEC/E-MARK or DOT certification on 2008, so that we have to focusing the development countries, middle east countries, Southeast Asia countries, middle and South of American countries, Russian region countries etc, for these markets, all of the consumers like to buy an electric bicycle and electric motorcycle with lead-acid batteries as energy power, of course the low price is one of the important factor as consider to the consumers.


Reporter: That is well, as we know above developing countries' population size more than seven hundred million, once you share 10 percents market, that is seventy million consumers, it is a huge number to a developing electric vehicle manufactory.

Li Mou: No, the fact is not you think, because sales achievement is the guide, electric vehicles are basically for the low-end markets, the profit is thin and the risk is big. Although low-end products also had a small profit at that time.

But after a period of sales, we found that the export lines of the low-end products were extraordinarily difficult, especially with the rising labor costs and high management costs of enterprises, the road of low-end lead-acid electric vehicle products has become impassable. So, it force BENLG to upgrade the product and go until now, in the process of product upgrades and high-end, although we paid a lot of cost, but very worthwhile, and still benefit to this day.

we paid more than 200000 RMB on one model electric motorcycle improve and upgrade its quality in order to conforming European quality system, hire the best designers and quality engineers in the electric vehicle industry, as you can see now our products already got the EEC/E-MARK certification and DOT certification. With the improvement of product quality, our European and North American markets were gradually opening up, lead-acid battery electric motorcycle, lithium battery electric motorcycle and lithium battery electric bicycles have increased significantly. Of course, abundant benefits is inevitable.

  For moreover, with more and more attention paid to environmental protection in developing and developed countries, for the demand of green environmental protection, electric vehicles must to be the trend in the future, green electric vehicles will be accepted by more and more foreign consumers, and the market will certainly become bigger and bigger in the future, more and more foreign companies choose us be their supplier in China, even many foreign government 's purchase orders place to BENLG, So I say now is the best of times for electric vehicle!


 Reporter: As you said, from 2008 to 2018, BENLG is the No.1 exporter in South of China on the electric vehicle field, it is a hard won achievement, as we know now more and more electric vehicle manufactories focusing to the oversea market. Could you please introduce your sale team and how to win the markets.

Li Mou: This is a very good question. I have never mulled my so-called contributions in these years, all the achievements are owed to the teams and all the staffs working together with me and BENLG provide a very good platforms to us, actually, whether saleman, technology engineer, business assistance are working very hard every day, in order to solve any troubles and problems ,we often work late into the night because of the jet lag with other countries, that is why we can maintain customers good relationships more than 10 years.

not only above working our team members have done from 2008 to present, but also we have to running in the foreign countries markets, we have traveled in more than 30 countries and regions around the world, visiting our customers' company, market researching and listing to the comsumers' voice, join the bicycle and motorcycle fair in different countries and join the Canton Fair in China. By join the exhibition and market researching , we obtained first-hand information in the market, together with our development engineers, we produce the electric vehicle targeted to focus on a certain country and a certain region, including the vehicle style, color, batteries models and unit price etc....


 Reporter: what the problem do you think are existing in the field of electric vehicles export business and need to be reflected and paid more attention?

Li Mou: Now the competition has been very fierce in the electric vehicles. There are actually many problems caused by the abnormal means adopted to gain the competitive advantage, I always refused these style business competition and I always believe we can certainly get a win-win situation with all of our customers and partners if we can make the good attitude in our working as below:

First, professional people do the professional job.

Second, pay patience. Rome was not built in one day.

Third, details determine success or failure.
